The questions we get asked most. Can’t find yours? Email support@popmobiles.co.uk.
A SIM only deal gives you data, UK minutes and UK texts on a SIM card — without a phone. You keep the handset you already own and just pop in the new SIM (or activate an eSIM). Because you're not paying off a phone, SIM only is usually much cheaper than a phone contract.
All POP Mobile plans run on the O2 network, so you get O2 coverage. You deal with POP Mobile for your plan, bills and support. Check the O2 coverage checker for your postcode before you order.
Yes. Text PAC to 65075 free from your current phone to get your Porting Authorisation Code, give it to us when you order, and we move your number across — usually by the next working day. Your old service keeps working until the switch completes, so you're never left without a phone. How switching works.
It depends on the plan you choose. 30-day rolling plans have no minimum term and no exit fee: leave or change with 30 days' notice. 12 and 24-month plans cost less each month in exchange for a minimum term — if you leave early, the monthly charges left in the term become payable. After the minimum term, plans carry on month to month.
Each April the monthly price rises by a fixed amount in pounds and pence, shown with every plan before you order — never a percentage you can't predict.
Yes. Choose eSIM at checkout and we email you a QR code to scan — no waiting for the post. To check your phone supports eSIM, dial *#06#: if you see an EID, it does. More about eSIM.
You'll need a 5G-capable phone and to be in an O2 5G coverage area, and 5G must be included in your plan. Where there's no 5G, your phone uses 4G automatically. Check coverage for your area before you buy.
Our SIMs are multi-size (combi) SIMs, so you snap out the size your phone needs: standard, micro or nano. If your phone supports eSIM you can activate digitally instead. Not sure? Dial *#06# — if you see an EID number, your phone is eSIM-ready.
Yes — in any unlocked device that takes a SIM, including tablets and mobile broadband dongles. Phones sold in the UK since December 2021 are unlocked by law.
You choose a monthly spend cap when you order, and you can change it any time. A £0 cap blocks all out-of-plan usage, so you can never pay more than your plan price. To carry on using services outside your plan before your next billing month, you can raise your cap in £10 steps — that's credit towards the usage itself, not a fee. Your cap resets at the start of each billing month.
Your plan allowances, incoming calls and emergency calls always keep working. Out-of-plan usage is controlled by your spend cap. If you regularly run out, moving up to a bigger allowance or an unlimited plan may work out cheaper — unlimited plans are subject to our fair usage policy.
You pay your first bill by debit or credit card when you order. After that, choose to pay monthly by Direct Debit or from your saved debit or credit card — we email each bill before we take it, and you can switch between them in My account.
Because there's no handset to pay off, SIM only is much easier to get than a phone contract. Any check we need is made clear before you commit.
Unlimited plans are for normal personal use and carry a fair-use threshold of 650GB. Going over 650GB in a single month is fine — it's only outside fair use if you exceed 650GB in two consecutive months, and we'd get in touch before taking any action. Full details are in our fair usage policy.
Choose your plan and order. To keep your number, text PAC to 65075 and enter the code at checkout. Your old service runs until the switch completes, so there's no gap in service.
